Sean Wolf, Vice President of Wolf Paving, was recently interviewed by Fox Focus segment host, Meg McKenzie, to answer some questions about asphalt and asphalt paving. The pair discussed the history of Wolf Paving and the future of the asphalt business. They also cover the benefits of an asphalt pavement and how you can prolong its lifespan.
Asphalt is a Green Product
Asphalt is 100% recyclable, in fact, Wolf Paving diverted 250,000 tons of material from landfills in the past year by recycling it into new asphalt. This offers a extra benefit to the consumer as using old asphalt and roofing shingles actually makes a better asphalt mix. Recycled asphalt mix is stronger, longer lasting, and has a stronger rut resistance than virgin asphalt mix.
New Technology Being Used In The Asphalt Industry
Wolf Paving is currently using drones on job sites to help evaluate the overall project. The drones help assess project elevations which help the team at Wolf Paving come up with a good maintenance plan.
Maintaining Your Asphalt
Sealcoating - protects against oil and gas leaks as well as oxidation. Learn more about this maintenance process here.
Crack Filling - Filling cracks in your asphalt is important because small cracks can be exploited by the elements, water especially, and quickly become a bigger problem. You can learn more about this maintenance process here.
