 Accounting Intern

Position Summary:

The Accounting Intern responsible for providing accounting support to accounting department. Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.

Essential Functions:

  • Reconciling trucking tickets with invoices and A/P entry
  • Match credit card receipts to monthly statements for verification
  • Sending statements to customers
  • Enter A/P for ancillary companies
  • Email Accounts receivable invoices to customers
  • Back up receptionist duties
  • All other general accounting duties assigned
Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of computers, office applications and accounting software.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Good verbal & written communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability prioritize and to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Must also possess problem solving approach.
  • Attention to detail

Grader Operator

Essential Functions:

  • Having working knowledge of excavation equipment such as skid steer and mid size grader, compactor, and roller
  • Self motivated, with high energy level and positive attitude.
  • Must have expert or journeyman quality skills on skid steer and or mid-size grader.
  • Willing to learn how to operate a laser level to obtain proper drainage and slope.
  • Document any base issues or contact Foreman or Project Manager
  • Consult with grade foreman or Project Manager prior, during and after job to ensure proper excavated areas are addressed and completed.
  • Properly maintain your equipment daily (check oil, grease, check for leaks, etc.)
  • Hand work around edges and corners will be expected.
  • Assist in training Grade Tech I to help learn trade
  • Drive any type of truck with any trailer including low-boy
  • Crosstrain on paving crew when needed
  • General Clean up of jobsite

 Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Must practice safety procedures at all times
  • Wisconsin driver’s license and class A CDL mandatory or able to obtain one from date of hire
  • Receive a Tanker Endorsement
  • Good driving record for the past 3 years per NDR
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds or more.
  • The ability to read and understand blue prints.
  • Must be able to work long hours and weekends as needed.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience.

Diesel Mechanic – Dousman, WI

Position Summary:
This position works closely with fellow mechanics, shop supervisor, truck drivers, crew foremen and loader operators.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Repair of construction vehicles and equipment along with providing preventative maintenance.
  • Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
  • May be required to travel to the jobsite for repairs or troubleshoot equipment
  • All other duties assigned
Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong preventative maintenance background along with fabricating and welding
  • 3-5 years cab and chassis experience
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and repair the following: diesel and gas engines, suspensions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems and air brakes.
  • Prior construction industry equipment experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal communications skills
  • Team player and Reliable
  • Able to work in dynamic fast paced environment
  • Must have own tools
  • CDL class A

Project Manager

Essential Functions:

  • Report to the Field Operations Manager.
  • Communicating and providing project details to the grading and paving foremen prior to the project starting using information in job folder.
  • Inform Field Operations manager of your daily schedule.
  • Secure grading contractors to assist in work overload.
  • Call Diggers hotline.
  • Upon receipt of job folder, schedule and meet with estimator to go over job.
  • Coordination of resources with scheduler including; equipment, labor, supplies and subcontractors.
  • Monitoring cost control, quality, productivity, and safety on projects.
  • Managing paving and grading foreman as they perform their duties on parking lots, driveways and roadways.
  • Training, disciplining, and providing positive reinforcement to foremen and crews as necessary.
  • Coordinate with Scheduler on hot mix asphalt needs.
  • Job site visits prior to crews mobilizing to jobs.
  • Daily jobsite monitoring to facilitate better scheduling for next day.
  • Set up/remove/maintain traffic control as necessary.
  • Ensure that crews are following safety practices.
  • Decides when to pull off of a job due to weather, material or site issues.

 Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years experience in the asphalt industry.
  • Skilled in running all aspects of an asphalt construction operation, including equipment and processes.
  • High organizational skills allowing to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Must have a valid Wisconsin drivers license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to read and scale site plans.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work 50 – 65 hours a week including weekends (May-November).
  • High attention to detail, quality and workmanship.

Estimator

Essential Functions:

  • Acquire bidding documents/plans for bidding on upcoming projects.
  • Investigate jobs to bid via internet searches through ISQFT and Bid Tool among others.
  • Knowledge of Hot Mix Asphalt mix designs and state specifications for aggregate base course a plus.
  • For Municipal and Commercial bid projects based on plan reading, addenda issued, questioning, engineer, architects, general contractors and owners.
  • Develop relationships and acquire quotes with many subcontractors for sub work needed for project that Wolf Paving is prime contractor.
  • For Municipal and Commercial clients develop strong positive working relationships. Prepare and deliver a comprehensive proposal based on information gathered.
  • For Residential Driveway sales meet with homeowner when necessary and develop strong positive working relationships. Prepare and submit comprehensive proposals to customers.
  • Follow up after client receives proposal. After proposal acceptance, gather information from bidding software and pass onto Sales Assistant to process. Include all pertinent information (signed contract, take off information, mix designs, testing, traffic control etc.).
  • Aid in managing projects as needed; subs, engineers, change orders, schedule, punch list, and billings to promote team work with the Operations personnel.
  • Monitor job progress, visit job sites, report to Wolf management as needed, to ensure work progress and customer’s satisfaction.

 Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:

  • A four year college degree or work experience that would provide knowledge equal to the job description.
  • Proven track record completing complex projects on time and under budget.
  • Ability to interact with multiple teams to complete projects.
  • Strong computer and analytical skills.
  • Effective organization skills.
  • A strong track record of exceeding goals and quotas.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with customers.
  • Demonstrate project management success.
